When somebody told me that editing web pages was money for old rope, I couldn't believe my ears! Well, I thought, those people had to be experts on computing but in fact I soon realised they were users as I myself could be ; the thing was that they had learnt how to create and develop web pages and once you got into it was not, by far, difficult. Software makes it up for the user, who only needs to know how the program works.
We started from scratch but after attending some online courses and listening some good colleagues advice, together with other teachers in our school created our School web page which is, up to certain point, quite dynamic and offers a general view of the aims, activities and festivals we hold on.
Nowadays, we try to keep it updated and teachers are asked to contribute in several ways (uploading pics, telling about the activities children perfom, etc.). However, in the staff there are a few members that even they agree with having a web page and with the content of our site, and despite the headteam insistence, they do not make any kind of effort to participate in it - it is like water off a ducks' back.
Moreover our school keeps meaning to distribute a paper-based school magazine among its community every school-year, which it is already taken into account for next year.
