First time I went to Italy, I was in a lift and a man asked me ' sali?' and I answered 'Non salgo'. He looked at me and he asked me again the same question; I answered the same as before. Then, he looked very angry at me and shouted the same question. I was in utter confusion and I just could answer the same. Finally, he pushed the 3rd floor and up we went. Later on, I explained my italian friend what happened. He told me that salire is a false friend in italian, it means to go up and no leaving a place as in Spanish.
